I'm having a couple of problems with my Electrolux EW28BS71IS.
1) Ice maker (used frequently)--the ice doesn't come out well. Bin is full, sounds like auger is moving fine. Long wait between dispensing of ice cubes.
2) Fridge always makes a LOT of noise (pops, "cracks", water filling, humming, etc.). It's new, so I'm trying to get used to it. However, it just started making this really loud buzzing sound (like a remote control airplane flying) that I can't imagine is normal.

Our kenmore fridge is really loud and as the mtor keeps comming on to keep it cool. It is a humming whining noise. The fan at the bottom back side of the fridge does not seem to be the problem. I think it is the compressor or motoe itself. Any thoughts. Can it be fixed. The fridge is 1 and a half years old
Simple answer to this is to get a spirit level and make sure it is square to the floor,in all directions.and put anti vibration pads under the feet.\015\012Another "fix"is to replace the mounting rubber washers(if you can find some)for the comp ...
Maytag MFF2557HEB Bottom freezer not working so top compartment is not cold either. Fan is blowing to top compartment. Fan on rear of fridge is also blowing. Makes a loud humming noise (never heard before) every 60 seconds for about 30 seconds. Any ideas? This is the second problem I've had with this piece of junk. It's only 2/12 to 3 years old.

Loud intermittent humming noise coming from Freezer "engine" when Ice Maker is either On or Off. Sounds like it is straining itself (!) Have to unplug when at home otherwise is like a slow form of torturing my brain. Ice maker works fine when switched on. Machine is around 3 yrs old, no prior problems. Temp setting for Fridge and Freezer both at "5". Water flow is normal if needed from front dispenser. No power or outlet issues in house.
Last night, the freezer door on my older GE Profile fridge got left slightly open. This morning, it was making a loud noise and some of the food inside was starting to thaw. I turned it off for awhile and then back on - still making noise. I went to work and when I came home it was making a REALLY loud noise, but everything was frozen inside. I turned it off, cleaned it out, let it warm up and then started it again. It started up fine, no noise, but in about 30 minutes I looked and it had s
The door being left open would have caused frost to form around the evaporator fan motor and that would be the source of your noise. If the lights are still working then it is probable in defrost, wait about 30-45 min and see if it turns back ...
I have a Kenmore Coldspot 106.56666500. It started to occasionally make a loud vibrating noise when attempting to dispense water. It would stop, and then the water dispenser would work. Finally after making the loud noise again, it stopped, and so did the water. I suspect the water inlet valve. Do you think this might be the problem, and, if so, is it difficult to fix?

I just bought a GE profile side by side refrigerator model PSS23M SS with a water dispenser. About 1 day after we bought it, the freezer would make period whirring noises - so loud that we could hear them upstairs. It used to stop after a few minutes but now it goes on for hours. Someone is coming to look at it but what could be the problem. Its like a really loud fan whirring. If we turn the temperature up the noise stops or slows down but then restarts again after about 20 minutes. We are goin

Kenmore Trio 795.73304600. I have two problems. The first is that the lights wouldn't go out when the door was closed. I have seen that the digital display goes off but not the lights. They were getting really hot and melted the light cover and some off the plastic containers near the lights. I have removed both bulbs for now.
The second problem is that the frig is making a loud noise when the motor is running. When I opening any of the doors and the motor shuts off the noise stops afte
The first problem is most likely a simple door switch, which controls the lights and fan controls for the unit. Second, if you are using a higher wattage bulb than called for on the unit, this will make the area around the fixture melt. \015\01 ...

I own an americana fridge - model #A3316ABSERWW, about 5 years old. For the past year, it has made a loud rumbling sound up in the freezer. The fridge still worked fine, just dealt with the loud noise (of the fan? whatever the problem is) ...because i didn't want to spend hundreds on a repair. Now, I'm noticing that there are little black flakes in the freezer...as if the fan is chewing something up and spitting it into the freezer portion. Any idea what the problem might be? Can I continue to
Freezer is not working. Loud humming noise.
You would need to pull the unit away from the wall to verify this but it could be that your compressor is not starting as it should.\015\012This could cause serious overheating of it too. \015\012The compressor should be visible from the rear and it ...

My Whirlpool fridge Model # GB2SHDXTS01 (bought new about 10 months ago) has started making a loud humming noise, which seems to be happening more often. I believe the noise is the compressor not starting. It happens for a ferw seconds then stops, but the compressor doesn't seem to start. The fridge remains sool, but I'm worried this is the a problem developing and if so would like to fix it before the warrenty expires... Thankyou Brian
I also have the same model and with a service call found it was not the compressor but a control module that needed replacing. Plug replacement, took about 1 minute to switch out. ...

My fridge is very noisy when the fan and compressor are running. I have already replaced the fan unit once and had it rebalanced another time. This seems to help or a short time but the noise is driving us crazy. You can hear it through the whole house. My model # is kfcs22evms0. Any suggestions? I really don't think it is just a fan problem. The fridge and freezer work fine other than the noise.

I have a Magic Chef refrigerator in my apartment that is approximately 11 years old. It has worked fine until apprx a year or so ago when it became louder and was emmiting more heat. We cleaned the coils and that seemed to help with the heat. But it is still making very loud popping and hissing sounds and (more bothersome to me) it makes a loud, sustained humming / motor sound for about 10-15 min. on and off. It seems that the source of the noise is in the freezer part, not the lower fridge part
This problem is creating by compressor bec u said that this unit is about 11 year s maybe the wear and tearing of mechanical parts thats cause of vibration and humming sounds, of ref. heat is only normal try to replace new compressor or replace new ...

Ice maker make a loud dropping noise when ice is ejected from tray. Loud enough that it will wake you from a sound sleep. I have to turn off ice maker at night. The tech says it is because of my reverse osmosis system. So I by passed it and had a simular experience. Samsung says that is the way it works. Does anyone have a simular problem
Noisy Periodically my frig will run and make lots of noise (cycling really loud, then soft) , before it finally stops and is apparently at required temperature. The noise seems to be coming from the top freezer side. Otherwise, everything seems to be working OK.
Check to make sure the fan is not hitting anything, if the fan looks good then on the back oof the unit is a relay, check that and make sure all is well. If both check out ok then I would get to work on the compressor and make sure it is not HOT to t ...

I have a GE Top Freezing Refrigerator. The model is GTS12BBMBRWW, if that helps. The refrigerator is constantly leaking. This is because ice constantly accumulates on the top wall of the refrigerator and then slightly melts and drips water into the refrigerator. Also, the fan (or maybe some sort of motor) in the top left of the refrigerator is obviously working really hard and makes a really loud buzzing type sound. These problems started at the same time so I know they are connected.

I bought the fridge in 2006. In 2008 it began making a loud vibrating noise. Repairman replaced the fan motor blade.Took 30 days to get part! It was never quite right after that. Had problems with defrost not working properly. Lately it is struggling to keep the fridge side cool. It will get very hot, chocolate melts! then return to normal. Finally turned it off because it is making the same noise it did the first time I had it repaired two years ago.
Could all be in the fan motor. If it's bad again, I would change the motor and blade. Then fire it back up and test for correct cycling.\015\012That may take a week of running until you get a true picture of whats happening, but they do have a ...
Noise vibration I have a frigidaire side by side. We have been hearing a loud fan noise/vibration. Ice maker is working, not problems with temperatures. My husband thought there was something going on wiht the fan. There was a little bit of ice on the tubing in the inside of the freezer back by the ice maker. He was banging on the back of the frig by the condenser fan. Sounded like a little of something fell - we think it was some of the ice. It is a little quiter but still hear some noise
If you take the back panel of the freezer out you can get to the condenser fan they do have a habit of going bad and actually having the fan and shaft move forward on them usually when you start hearing the noise it is not long before it goes out com ...
