If you open the freezer door and remove the bottom basket, there will be a small shelf with a hole in it, if it is covered with ice the drain is most likely plugged. hopefully you can remove the ice with a hair dryer and run some hot water down and clear it. If not you may have to go in from the back and remove the drain tube. this is a serious pain in the ***.

I have a Kenmore Elite bottom freezer Model 795.75546401. Water is leaking from the back wall of the freezer and forming ice on the freezer floor and then on the defrost cycle (I presume) leaks (drips) out the freezer door seal. I've checked the drip tube at the back and is clear. I can't find a drip hole on the inside of the frig or freezer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
The problem is caused by the condensation drain line adjacent to and partially going through the coldest part of the freezer. It can - and does - tend to ice up once a year or so.So the if the drain line freezes, the water, instead of draining o ...

My Kenmore upright refrigerator-freezer, Model 55771, leaks water ocassionally out the left hand lower front corner of the freezer compartment as you face the doors. I already changed out the heating coils in the back of the freezer compartment that deice the cooling coils. A layer of ice forms on the bottom of the freezer, so I assume that things aren't draining properly during the defrosting cycle. The problem is so persistent that it has warped the plywood under the floor tiles. The unit

Amana Fridge with bottom freezer Model# ABB2224DEQ There is a 1/4 inch ice build up on floor of freezer. Then, the following defrost cycle causes water to run out of the freezer onto the floor. The hole to evap tray tends to get plugged. After unplugging, it may take an hour to drain entire system. Then system needs to go through the defrost cycle. There is likely a buildup of water that was frozen and will now drain. Keep an eye on the eva ...
I have a Kenmore model #106.57412600 . The freezer side is vey cold -10F bu the refrigerator side is 50F . I suspected a poor air circulation problem so I checked the inlet duct of the refrigerator side and it was full of frost. I then exposed the evaporator to check for frost and ice there. It was normal frost no icing on the coils but because the freezer was so cold when the defrost cycle melted the ice the water froze at the bottom of the freezer because the pan is aluminum and the drain fro

Model SJ-3056-BE/GL/GY/SL/WH Sharp Fridge Freezer. Problem possibly related to Defrost Timer or its accessories. The original timer went faulty and was replaced by a suitable one with 1-2-3-4 connection cycle. The cooling in the Freezer compartment went erratic as ice formation in the ice tray takes 5 to 6 hours at a stretch and once formed the ice melts back to water and to ice again in another 6 to 8 hours. Freezing termperatures are not maintained. However there is cooling in the Refrigerator

I have a kenmore bottom freezer model 596.65239402. The freezer is getting too cold. I have set it to the warmest setting with no luck. Last week I took the back plate in the freezer off and it was full of ice. I let it defrost and started it back up. Know the same thing is happening again. The freezer is too cold and I can see ice forming in the back on the coils and the refrigerator is starting to warm up.
I have a 3 year old Amana refrigerator Model ABD2533DE bottom freezer refrigerator. The freezer section is freezing & the refrigerator section is not cool there is also ice building up back panel (freezer section). As per the troubleshooting guide, I programmed it to a "forced defrost cycle". This did in fact fix the problem but only for about 2 weeks. We are now back to the same problem. Do I still need to check the defrost thermostat for continuity or is the electronic control board bad.

I have a Jenn-Air side by side fridge freezer about 9 years old - sorry I don't know the model number - perhaps you can tell me where to look - and the bottom of the freezer compartment freezes up as if there is a build up of water/moisture. This slowly forms a block of at the base of the freezer necessitating a lengthy manual defrost. It has been "repaired" several times and the story given is that food dropping down inside the back of the freezer is blocking the grill causing the icing problem
It sounds as if for whatever reason, the drain tube is freezing shut, if you take a piece of 14 gauge solid copper wire, put a couple of inches of it into the drain tube from inside of the freezer, take the other end and put a couple of turns around ...

The freezer is self defrosting - the problem is that when the freezer defrosts it drain tube that the defrost water goes in at the back of the freezer freezes up and the water collects on the bottom of the freezer and turns to ice and keeps on collecting. In time the ice buildup get so big that the water leaks out the bottom of the door gasket.

Ice is forming in the bottom of my freezer, blocking the drain hole, and dripping water into the refrigerator. We defrosted it, and it worked fine for 2 weeks. Now it's doing it again. The drain hole is not clogged, it just freezes up. It's also not a case of the freezer being too cold. We already tried that. It is a Roper model rt21lmxkq02

We have a top freezer, model number 10679182990. It is draining water along the back of the refrigerator from the freezer section which then runs down into the refrigerator section and collects on bottom of the refrigerator. The ice maker seems to be working fine, the water does not appear to be coming from there. I am wondering if it has something to do with the self defrost cycle?
It could be that the drain in the freezer section is plugged. Remove the back panel from the freezer section and check the drain hole for blockage. When you pull the panel off, check the evap coil for ice build up. If there is just some surface frost ...
I have a Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer (top freezer unit) Model ER2MHKXPL01, just shy of 6 years old. It just started leaking water inside the refrigerator compartment from a port located on the roof of the fridge near the back of the compartment. Maytag fridge, side to side. Model# MSD2757AEB
Bought on Sept. 1999
The bottom of the freezer forms a deep layer of ice; I remove that ice, but it keeps ddoing the same.
The water drips from the bottom grill on the back wall inside the freezer, to the floor of it where it forms the ice.
I would like to have an idea of the price to repair it to decide if it is worth it or not.
This fridge already needed two repairs, about two years ago, that resulted in $400.

Refrigerator model NoGC20C7C3Ewith fridge setting just on and freezer setting low following defrosting the operation seams ok but deteriorates with ice forming on the rear freezer panel and the lower vegetable section freezing.Ice maker continues to make ice with bar up.when ice forms on the panel, the air circulation reduces and defrosting results.
Defrost system problem. Could be in heaters, defrost thermostat, or defrost timing circuit. Freezing in vegetable section is due to air back flow related to frozen evaporator coil in freezer compartment.Colder air settles and warmer air raises. ...
I have a Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator...GB2FHDXWS04. Water is leaking from somewhere and forming a layer of ice on the floor of the freezer. Refrigerator Freezer has ice forming in the bottom inside freezer section. It appears to be leaking down the back inside compartment. The top section has an ice maker and water dispenser but I haven't had a chance to see if there's a leak there yet. I defrosted the ice out and used compressed air and a vacuum to clean dust from the coils and motor from the back but within two days the ice is forming again..
I believe you just described a defrost condensate blockage that is causing the leaking. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a in the de ...

Seems the freezer door was not completely closed. Ice started ot melt and then form icicles! Well we closed the freezer the next morning. Now the ice maker and water dispensor are not working. In addition, the bottom crisper was frozen (set at warmest setting).
Will this repair itself or do I have to manually defrost the entire fridge? I would think the water tank was frozen and would defrost, but why would the ice maker stop working?
When you closed the door, the freezer froze all the condensation/melting ice, hence the icemaker freezing.\012the best solution is a TOTAL defrost/clean out, then dry out.DO NOT USE HOT WATER/SCRAPERS,let it defrost naturally or use car de-icer.w ...
